Podcasts – the new support group?

Posted on February 25th, 2019

A podcast that has changed the way people talk, support and educate people is “You, Me and the Big C”. It is well worth a listen if you have not already!

“You, Me and the Big C” features three women with cancer discussing the topic people often avoid. The podcast talks about diagnoses, feelings, living with cancer and how to approach different situations when they have ‘the big C’, giving people with cancer an opportunity to explore the diagnosis and everything that comes with it.

Many podcasts now cover a variety of traditionally taboo topics such as cancer and grief. This can offer a great new level of support for someone struggling by listening to people that have gone through or are going through the same thing.

Here at Freedom Funerals, we are huge advocates of discussing “difficult topics”. Which is one of the reasons we started our Death Cafes in Colchester and frequently share information that encourages open dialogue.

If you have cancer or know someone that does, listening to this podcast may give you an insight into what living with cancer is like and offer advice on a variety of subjects. To listen to “You, Me and the Big C” click here.
